Introductions:

Dear Animal Lovers,

I would first like to thank you for purchasing this magazine or, if you are browsing, urge you to buy. Every penny paid for the magazine goes directly to the rescue of Staffordshire Bull Terriers and the Plight of the Badger. Its intention is to bring the two separate groups into view of each other; to make the Stafford people aware of the suffering and persecution that the Badger undergoes; to make the Badger people aware that the majority of the Stafford people are horrified by the events taking place and that most would give their all to assist in its prevention.

The stories contained in the magazine have been sent in by the many interested people concerned. The pictures/adverts in this magazine have paid for its production and I would like to thank all those people. I would also like to thank Joy and Mike Robins who donated the flat sheets for the introduction of the charity, the members of the Essex Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club who held a sponsored walk and donated over £300 to the charity, and the people from the local training club who have been tremendous in their support.

Some of the stories are harrowing and unbelievable, one of the latest I received was not a story but a poem that says it all and tells of the pitiful degradation to which we subject our noble breed through greed and cruelty. It is something as breeders we should all heed.

Donna Hopkinson

This book is said to be produced by Donna Hopkinson and myself -Mandy Wilson. However, I have to say that it is Donna who has done all the hard work - she has contacted numerous people requesting articles and, because of her very amiable personality, some excellent ones have been forthcoming, as you will see. She has spent hour after hour, week after week, month after month, racking her brains and delving into her vivid imagination for ways in which to raise money to help the Badgers and Staffords, and she must be most honourably commended. Donna and I have been special friends now for three years and I think I know her well enough to say that she will cry after she reads this. But I have not written it for her, I have written for our readers so that you will know how passionately Donna cares for the Badgers and Staffords - as I do - only she seems to be able to give her all whereas I can only spare limited time and brain cells.

Thank you for purchasing our booklet and feel happy that your money will soon be helping the needy Badgers and Staffords everywhere.
